Last week, detectives concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported at a residence in Gainsville on Dec. 22, 2024.
Investigators from the Prince William County Police Department say that the woman was hosting the gathering at her home when she "became incapacitated."
"While incapacitated, another attendee of the get-together, later identified as the teen, sexually assaulted her."
On Thursday, Feb. 20, detectives obtained charges against the 16-year-old who surrendered without incident.
The Haymarket teen was charged with rape and aggravated sexual battery. His court date is pending and he was held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
